K’s Dating Tips: From Friends to Lovers

As a twenty-something trying to navigate her way in this crazy world, dating tends to be a topic of discussion when I’m out with my girlfriends. That being said, I wanted to bring another aspect of my life to Kindly With K so I have decided to start posting some of my dating tips on here!

I am currently single and I am loving it, but don’t get me wrong…I love being in love. I am just waiting for the right guy to come into my life!

Ok enough about me! Recently two of my good friends decided that they were going to take their friendship to the next level and start dating. Going from friends to lovers can be a tricky situation to navigate, so I am going to share some advice on how to make the transition and how to be best friend lovers!
Communicate, Communicate, Communicate
Can I say it again…COMMUNICATE! If you and your friend are going to make the transition from friends to more than friends you have to talk to each other. Relationships do not survive without communication, but when you already know the person as a friend talking about your feelings, etc. becomes even more important. Just talk to each other!!

Be Open and Honest
Have you been thinking about him as more than a friend for a long time? Tell him. Honesty never hurts especially when you are starting a new relationship. You have to be open and honest about how you feel and where you see the relationship progressing. You never want to get stuck in the situation where you want a relationship and he just wants friends with benefits. If you are ever doubting on whether you should say something, I always go by the rule that honesty is the best policy.

Understand That It Won’t Be Easy
If you and your guy have been friends for a while, know that the transition to more than friends could be a little bumpy. Things that might not have bothered you before about each other could all of the sudden irritate the crap out of you and some days you may not like each other. It's just the reality. Just remember that there is a reason you both decided to give a relationship a try…don’t lose sight of that!

Some friendships turn into the most amazing relationships while others fail before they even get off the ground. Know that everyone dates differently, but as long as you talk to each other honestly friendships usually become the most life-changing relationships. Fight for what you want and never give up on someone you love!

Have you ever gone from friends to lovers? I want to hear from you!
"Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses." - Ann Landers

Staying Organized in the New Year

In the public relations industry, a common question that I always get is "How do you stay so organized?" There are many different answers to that question. The first being "well I am just naturally an organized person." And yes there is some truth to that, but you have to consciously organize your life. I hate to break it to you but nobody is just naturally organized, we all work at it on a daily basis.

The second answer to the organization question is that "I make to do lists and keep a planner (yes the old fashioned kind)!"This is in fact the truth of how I stay organized. I constantly have lists upon lists of to do's or priorities or people to call...you get the point. Putting everything in one place makes organization so much easier, trust me!

Organization doesn't stop at using a day planner for me. I also like to keep a very organized work bag and also use technology to help me out at times. With the new year starting a lot of people are trying to get their lives organized, so I've picked some of my "Organization Necessities" to share with you.

How do you choose to organize your life?

Chris Meets His 30 Bachelorettes + My Predictions

The Bachelor is back!!! Did you watch last night’s 3 hour season premiere? If I must say, three hours was a bit of over kill for me for a season premiere but what do I know. If you didn’t catch last nights’ episode, here is a quick recap:

Hour 1: Live on the Bachelor Red Carpet. Chris Harrison chatted with all of the Bachelor alums, including Andi and Josh, Catherine and Sean, and Lacey and Marcus. I always think it is funny when they talk to the Bachelor couples because now they are actually getting married, so it is interesting to hear their perspectives. Andi and Josh and Catherine and Sean are still by far my favorite Bachelor couples of all time!

Hour 2: Finally we get to see Farmer Chris! The first 15 Bachelorettes arrive at the house and let me say they are less than impressive. The only girl that I think has a chance out of the first 15 would be Britt, who ultimately got the first impression rose and the first kiss. The way that Chris greeted all of the women was adorable; it was like he had never seen a pretty girl before in his life! Bless his heart.
Hour 3: The other 15 women arrive and all hell breaks loose in the house. Watching the first 15 girls get so possessive over Chris is comical. As the night progresses the crazy’s start to show their true colors. Tara couldn’t hold her liquor and Ashley S. was talking to “onions” in the bushes. Where do the producers find these people? But surprisingly, Chris kept both of the crazy chicks over some of the much more normal girls. Maybe he likes a little crazy in his life!
Overall it was a good season premiere, but nobody really jumped out and caught my attention as a front runner. And the jury is still out on whether or not I will enjoy Chris as the Bachelor. Only time will tell.

What did you think of the first episode?

I really can’t tell who he is going to pick or even who will be in the final three. So my predictions are probably really off this time, but here is who I pick as his top 3 women:

1. Kelsey
2. Britt
3. Whitney
Who do you think Chris will give his final rose to? Check back next Tuesday for my recap as Chris goes on his first dates!
